On Thursday night the varsity boys lacrosse team took care of businesses, crushing Northern 17-1. With the Rangers’ tough offense, the Huskies rarely saw the offensive side of the field. But when they did, senior Andy Trapp, junior Cam Dienes, and senior Caleb Foster made sure there were few shots on junior goalie Jack Nolan.
In the first half the Rangers dominated; the Huskies had only two scoring opportunities, but Jack Nolan saved both. On the offensive side, junior Tate Hallock and senior Bryce Clay were a dynamic duo, along with senior Kyle Basch and sophomore Jackson Clay who also created perfect scoring chances for the Rangers. The quick movement of the ball that sophomore middie Chris Junkunc created was also part of the reason the halftime score of the game was 9-0.
Without hesitation, the Rangers came out in the second half exactly how they did in the first. The team created even more chances to bring the ball up the field. Senior Jacob Demeter headed into goal in the fourth period and had very few shots on him, but the Huskies ended up putting one in the back of the net making the final 17-1.
Leading scorers of the game were Bryce Clay who had 5 and Tate Hallock with 4. The Rangers look ahead to EGR on Saturday and plan to add to their 5-0 record this season.
