The Ranger girls varsity tennis team matched up against cross town rival East Grand Rapids on Wednesday night. The girls have ran into a few tough opponents and rivals lately in Forest Hills Northern and now East Grand Rapids.
The Pioneers won 6 out of the 8 flights at the Rangers’ home courts, but the two teams will face each other again later in the season. 4 doubles and 4 singles were the 2 flights to take home a victory for the Rangers. Another hard-fought match that came up short was Kaitlyn Fox at 1 singles. Kaitlyn played against last year’s 1 singles State Champion. Kaitlyn lost the first set 6-4 and fell 6-0 in the second set.
