FHC Crew has another strong regatta at Midwest Scholastic Nationals
The FHC Crew team attended the Midwest Scholastic Nationals adding another solid regatta to the books and a couple more medals to the collection.
Seventeen boats raced in this regatta against some of the best boats in the Midwest. Six of the FHC boats advanced to Sunday’s final. The mens varsity 2+ pair took first in its race and the womens lightweight 8+ boat brought home a silver medal for its second-place finish. The mens junior 8+ boat placed sixth and the womens novice 4+ took seventh. FHC also had two petite final finishes from the womens varsity 8+ and the mens varsity 8+. The women took first and the men took 5th.
The Rangers look ahead to the State Championship and to continue their strong season. Following States will be the Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Association Regatta which will be in Canada. Only about half of the crew team will attend, and it will be the final meet for the team and possibly the toughest one yet.
