Freshman volleyball wins against rival FHN
Last night the freshman girls volleyball team went on the road to take on cross-district rival, Forest Hills Northern. The Rangers lost the first critical set to Northern with a score of 25-10. Moving into the second set, FHC found the momentum and pulled ahead with a score of 25-16 earning them the win. This tied them with Northern 1-1 in the game and the last set was crucial for the Rangers to win, which they did with a final score of 15-11.
Although the team had a slow start in the first set, the gameplay was picked up big time when freshman Sophia Galan showed up on the defensive side and took some great digs at the ball. Not only did Sophia have some stellar defense, but she played a great offensive game as well.
The freshman volleyball team will play its next game on Thursday, September 13 at home against Northview in hopes of adding another win to its conference record. The Rangers’ current conference record is 1-0. FHC has a long lineup of conference games coming up within the next few weeks, and winning these games will help them move to the top of the OK White Conference.
