Freshman volleyball win against Lowell 2-1
Last night, the FHC freshman volleyball team took on one of the hardest teams it would face this year: Lowell. Unlike most of their games so far this season, the Rangers played three sets instead of the normal two. This game was one of the harder ones for the Rangers, but they persevered and ended up winning the game 2-1.
In the first set, FHC pulled ahead of the Lowell Red Arrows with a final score of 25-18. In the second, the Rangers fell short with a score of 26-18. In the third set, the Rangers found their momentum again and earned the win with a final score of 15-6.
Notable players were freshmen Ruthie VanSkiver and Mackenzie Davis. Ruthie had stellar defense and Mackenzie had some amazing serves that helped add points to the FHC scoreboard. The FHC offense was the key component that helped them win another game to add to their conference record.
The freshman team now has a 5-0 conference record so far this season. FHC’s next games will take place this Saturday, September 29 against multiple opponents at the Grand Haven Lakeshore Classic.
