Crew team struggles at competitive Laddie Cup
More stories from Sam Tuori
On Saturday morning, the FHC Crew team hit the water in Orchard Lake to compete in the Laddie Cup, hosted by St Mary’s Prep School. For the second straight week, the Rangers faced stiff competition, as they competed alongside Rockford, East Grand Rapids, Saline, Ann Arbor Pioneer, as well as many other good teams.
For a second straight Saturday, the Rangers struggled. Despite winning a few times earlier in the year, the varsity boys 8 was unable to reach the finals. Despite a good amount of Ranger boats making the finals, only the girls lightweight 4 boat was able to medal, taking third place. FHC was also able to secure fourth place in the boys second varsity 8, freshman boys 8, as well as the girls second varsity 4+ boat.
The Rangers will row in the Midwest Scholastic National regatta next weekend. It will take place at Lake Dillon in Zanesville, Ohio.
