Boys varsity tennis finishes 2nd in conference behind FHN
Boys varsity tennis had a long day and ended up placing in second place behind rival Forest Hills Northern, who won 7 out of 8 flights at the OK White conference meet.
Freshman Sammy Yin lost a tough three-set match in the championship game at one singles. Freshman Chris Shang, who plays four singles, also lost in the third match in his championship game.
One doubles junior Jeremy James and senior Ali Azeem also fell to the Huskies but have been amazing all season and led the Rangers from start to finish. At four doubles, the junior duo of Ben Koning and Nick Stockenauer narrowly lost in the championship.
The only Ranger to come out on top was senior Nick Sjolin, who won his flight and allowed FHC to escape the shutout.
The Rangers now move onto Regionals, hosted by FHC and FHN. This will take place next week on Thursday, October 10 against some of the best teams in the state
