Yesterday, the FHC cross country teams ran in the Portage Invite. This invite is usually a very big event that attracts a variety of different teams throughout the state. The boys team placed 22nd out of 40 schools, and the girls team placed 29th out of 37 teams. This course is full of big hills, which makes pacing the run much harder. On the flip side, the cooler temperatures helped to take the harshness of the hills away.

For the girls team, senior Nicole Marco finished in 56th out of 249 total runners with a time of 19:52.3. The second runner for the girls was senior Chloe Zeien, who finished with a time of 20:59.6. Trailing behind Chloe was Sophomore Rachel Marco, coming in with a time of 21:36.3.

For the boys team, senior Gabe Carlson finished in 38th out of 278 total runners with a time of 16:23.2. Behind Gabe was sophomore Sam Yeager, who finished with a time of 16:44.8. The third runner for FHC was junior Kyle James-Heer, coming in with a time of 17:25.2.

The next race for the Rangers is the Kent-Ottawa Cross Country Invite on Saturday, October 12th. The girls team will start at 10:30 AM, and the boys at 11:00 AM.
