The boys swim and dive team faced off against Midland Dow, FH Northern/Eastern, Grandville, and GR Catholic Central at its home pool at the aquatic center. They took second, losing only to Midland Dow who dominated the meet with a score of 660 compared to FHC’s 450. The Rangers continue to look good overall, with their separation from Forest Hills Northern/Eastern paying off; this meet extended an undefeated season versus the Rangers’ former teammates.

The Rangers started the swimming portion of the meet with a victory. Senior CJ Hier, sophomore Benji Zorn, junior Avery LeTourneau, and senior Dani Ahmetovic took first in the 200-yard medley relay with their time of 1:42.84. Next up, a trio of Rangers went 8,9, and 10 in the 200-yard freestyle. The swimmers senior Andrew Kerssies, sophomore Roman Kalaczinski, and Francesco Roveri swam the times of 2:04.42, 2:06.97, and 2:09.22.

The third event of the meet was the 200-yard individual medley. CJ took third in this race with his time of 2:07.83. Avery LeTourneau then used his quickness in the water to take first in the 50-yard freestyle with his time of 22.92, beating second place by just .11 seconds.

The middle of the meet consisted of the diving event. Sophomore Cole Hysong took third with his score of 342.45. The competition was tough, with Cyrus Irwin, the first place diver, scoring 503.30. Going back to the swimming events, senior Kyle Carter took fifth in his first race of the meet, the 100-yard fly, with his time of 57.78. Following this up was CJ, who took sixth in the 100-yard freestyle with his time of 52.36.

Avery won the 500-yard freestyle race by almost 18 seconds with his time of 5:00.67. The 200-yard freestyle relay was not as successful, with Benji, Dani, Francesco, and Kyle taking fourth with their time of 1:39.46. Sophomore Aden Pomeroy then took 15th in the 100-yard backstroke with his time of 1:15.15.

To finish out the meet, Benji swam the time of 1:06.60 in the 100-yard breaststroke to take fourth place. Finally, freshman Isaac Stewart, Kyle, CJ, and Avery took fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay with their time of 3:34 to conclude the meet.

This meet was successful, with the Rangers only losing to Midland Dow, who has been a thorn in their side all season and once again beat Forest Hills Northern/Eastern. The next meet will be a dual meet versus Grand Rapids Christian. This will be their first dual meet of the year and the first time the Rangers have faced off against Grand Rapids Christian, so the results are unpredictable; although, the Rangers have been successful this year.
