FHC tennis wins the quad against FHE, Mona Shores, West Ottawa
The varsity tennis team won the quad this weekend that was hosted here at FHC. The quad consisted of the Rangers, Forest Hills Eastern, Mona Shores, and West Ottawa. FHC won the quad with 17 points, thanks to the help of Advith Reddy. Three singles was the last match going against FHE and Advith won, giving FHC the 5-3 win over FHE. The pressure was on for Advith, but he did not let them clog his judgment.
“I knew I had to play my game and not worry about what the other guy is doing or what any of my teammates were doing,” Advith said. “I had to focus on my match and how I played.”
At 1 doubles, senior Jacob Wiltjer and Aiden Rynbrandt won all three on the day. 2 doubles, Peyton Herbert and Jack Ziegler, along with 3 doubles, brother duo Michael and Christopher Battiste won all three, adding two more overall wins for the Rangers. Four doubles Tyler George and Ali Azeem beat two out of the three teams, only losing to FHE.
Connor Genschaw is back at it winning all three games at 1 singles. In 2 singles, sophomore Nicholas Sjolin beat West Ottawa but lost to the other 2 teams. As for 3 singles, Advith Reddy lost to West Ottawa, but beat all other teams. 4 singles, Suchir Gupta only beat Mona Shores.
The tennis team has a match tonight against Cedar Springs, at Cedar Springs at 4:15 pm tonight.
