Girls swim and dive competes in the West Michigan Relays
The Lady Ranger swim and dive team put in its hardest work going against thirteen other teams this weekend at the West Michigan Relays. The swimmers finished strong by placing seventh out of those thirteen, with a final score of 262.
The 500-yard Freestyle Relay swam by senior Kara Bolger, junior Maggie Zorn, junior Olivia Luplow and sophomore Ellie Field placed eighth. Kara, along with the help of sophomore Olivia Hooper, freshman Jessica Doyle, and junior Sarah Schenck, secured fourth place in the 4×100 Relay. Finally, Olivia Hooper teamed up with sophomore Sarah Chesner, freshman Maggie Hier, and senior Jessica Schellenboom to place second in the 200-yard Backstroke Relay. The dive team, consisting of four new girls, placed last, although senior Lauren Gesik competed some complicated dives for the first time this season.
The Lady Rangers hope to train harder and achieve more wins throughout this year’s season. The team heads to Northview next to compete against the Wildcats on Tuesday, September 11.
