Girls varsity swim and dive beats Northview 110-76
The Lady Rangers swim and dive team went head to head against Northview this Tuesday, winning with a final score of 110-76. Valient efforts were put up by both the swim and dive teams.
Key team members for the swimmers included sophomore Emily Johnson, who placed first in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay, senior Katherine Bell, who placed fourth in Backstroke, freshman Maggie Hier with second place in the 100-yard Freestyle, and sophomore Olivia Hooper taking first place in the 100-yard Backstroke. The dive team finished ahead of the Wildcats, with the top scorer being senior Grace Clinger placing seventh and scoring a 107.25. Senior Lauren Gesik then performed her inward dive tuck, which helped her place fourth and earn a 153.10, followed by senior Emily Briggs with her somersault tuck dive, who placed sixth with a score of 108.00. Finally, junior Dana Kistler placed eighth and scored a 103.75 by doing her backflip dive.
The swim and dive team competed hard this past Tuesday to secure a win against the Northview Wildcats. The team matches up against the Grand Rapids Christian Eagles next Tuesday, September 18 at Calvin College.
