Varsity volleyball goes 1-3 at the Rockford Power League

This Saturday the varsity volleyball team played against multiple teams in the Rockford Power League. They went 1-3 on the day, losing to Lake Odessa, Fruitport and Grand Rapids Christian. The Rangers took Lake Odessa to three sets, but were defeated by the other teams in two. However, they were able to take revenge on Forest Hills Northern in two sets to get a win for the day.

Leaders against Fruitport included seniors Katrina Bodkins, Kate Ryan, and Caileigh Treash, junior Lauren Schofield, sophomore Morghan Tilton, and freshman Sophia Shields. Katrina had 2 blocks during the game, Kate had 8 assists, and Morghan had 11 digs. Lauren, Sophia, and Caileigh contributed equally on offense with 3 kills each. Morghan, Lauren, Kate, and Katrina once again had top stats against Lake Odessa. Morghan had 9 digs, Katrina had 3 blocks, and Kate had 10 assists and 2 aces. Lauren dominated offensively with 7 kills.

The Rangers’ next conference game is this Tuesday against rival Lowell on the road. The team is currently 2-2 in conference play.
