On Friday, the FHC track and field team traveled to MSU to partake in the Spartan Classic.

Senior Geoffrey Batterbee was the first runner from FHC to place on the day; he started it off in the 800-meter, where he took third. Later, junior Gabe Carlson placed fourth in the 3200-meter and was the only FHC runner to place within the top ten for this event. The 4×400 relay had an FHC group in the top five consisting of senior Kai Hagadorn, junior Patrick Ho, freshman Sam Yeager, and Geoffrey; the relay placed fourth to represent the Rangers. In the pole vault, senior Ryan Talbot placed first at 14 feet.

For the girls, senior Claire Baguley placed second in the 200-meter and third in the 400-meter. Senior Courtney McAlindon placed first in the 800-meter, followed by junior Nicole Marco in third. For pole vault, the highest place for FHC was senior Kelsey Becker in sixth. In the long jump, senior Madisyn Bunke placed fifth.

On Saturday, some members of the track and field team headed to the Catholic Central Invite and competed. Senior Susannah Bennett placed fourth in the 3200-meter. Kelsey placed second in the pole vault.

The next meet will take place tonight at Forest Hills Central against FHN, Lowell, and Northview.
