Girls JV tennis has successful season while improving along the way
Throughout the season, the FHC JV girls tennis team has improved drastically. From team bonding and coach relationships to tournaments and matches, the girls have grown exponentially. Leading the team this year was sophomore Delaney Michalski who, in the words of her coach, improved the most throughout the season. Along with Delaney, sophomores Madeline Knoor, Signa Bylsma, Anastasia Blount, and junior Elena Kelbley helped lead the team.
“I thought the season went really well and it was a lot of fun.” said Delaney, “This was the first season for me so I was kind of nervous, but it got a lot better and I got a lot more confident in my abilities.”
Maddie and Signa were extremely consistent this season and won almost every single one of their matches this year. Adding to the continuous winning, Anastasia and Elena were also able to win almost every single one of their matches.
“Some of the best moments of the season came during practices because that’s when I really got to build a friendship with the girls.” head coach Adam Monroe said. “I got to know who they really are, what their future plans are, and of course all their boy drama I got to hear all year. If you ask the girls, their favorite memory was making fun of my ‘dad shoes.'”
The girls finished the season strong and were able to win multiple tournaments and matches, even while adding a lot of newcomers to the team.
