Varsity B Wrestling goes 2-0 at the Lowell Double Dual

Freshman Michael Campbell, junior Josiah Perdue, junior Ashley Anderson, and senior Alex Quiton each won their bracket at the Lowell Double Dual meet yesterday evening. Their individual performances led the Varsity B Wrestling team to defeat Caledonia and East Kentwood. The Rangers beat the Fighting Scotts 25-15 and the Falcons 30-15.

“There were several good performances last night from our B team,” Head coach Michael Moore said. “But one standout to me is Michael Campbell.”

Only as a freshman, Michael went undefeated last night. His aggression and perfect timing on moves allowed him to dominate against his two opponents.

“He hits the double leg like a seasoned veteran, and there is no doubt there are great things in his future,” Moore said.

The new renewed sense of pride and team spirit this year has been the main factor in the Rangers’ success of an undefeated season of 3-0 so far. Leading the Varsity B team this season are Gavin and Ashley who have records of 7-0, and closely behind Michael with a record of 6-1. The Rangers are fighting harder and competing at a higher level than the coaches expected going into the season.

“With each win, their confidence grows and they start to believe that this is something special,” Moore said.

The Rangers compete next on Saturday, January 4th in the East Kentwood JV Invite.
