The Central Trend

Jake Standerfer

Jake Standerfer, Editor in Chief

Jake Standerfer is joining the Central Trend for his third year on the staff as an Editor in Chief. He was one of the first people to join the staff after its transition to magazine format, and a signature player in the transition to online format. He is an involved member and captain of the FHC rowing team. Writing and the English language are passions of Jake’s, and he joined the staff in order to exercise this passion.

  • Favorite thing about being on staff: I enjoy the act of writing and crafting stories and arguments.
  • Favorite type of story to write: Review
  • Extracurriculars/Sports: I partake in the FHC rowing team.
  • Hobbies/Interests: Reading, writing, and hanging out with good friends.
  • Favorite book and why: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson is my favorite book because it highlights my philosophies about how to experience life.
  • If it is Friday night, you will most likely find Jake: Sleeping in preparation for a regatta the following morning.
