We’ve been molded our whole lives to become the people we are today. We’ve been shaped by everyone we’ve interacted with. Every family member, friendship, and relationship—they’ve all created the most recent versions of ourselves. It’s not something that happened out of the blue. It was planned. It was destined. Which means that we were destined to meet when we were the best versions of ourselves.
The most recent version of you is the one that I know. I haven’t known any other version, and that’s okay with me because the current one is the one I love. The person you are today is my favorite.
The people that came before me are the ones who made you who you are, and I wish that I could thank all of them because you are so incredibly amazing. All of the girls that you loved before me made you the person I love. The one who treats me like a princess. The one who loves me.
So thank you to all of the girls you loved before, because they made you the one I adore.
I know that it’s typical to be jealous of the previous girls, and trust me, sometimes I am. But, I also know that they did so much for me. They taught you the right and the wrong, and they taught you to be the incredible person you are. The girls before me got to be with you. But I take pride in the fact that I get to be with the best version of you. None of them got that.
But, despite there being girls of your past, my hope is that I’m the only girl of your future. I want to be the one that teaches you how forever feels. I’m sure that a lot of people have hoped that before, but my wish is that I’m the one whose dream comes true.
There are moments that have led us to where we are today. Glances in the hall and whispered words in passing. People have led us to where we are. But, ultimately, fate led us to where we are. Our lives have been intertwined up until the moment we met, and now they run together. The stars aligned for us.
This isn’t like anything I could have ever imagined. This is greater than anything I’ve ever dreamed of. It’s like my biggest dreams exploded, and you are the outcome. And I’m in awe. I’m in awe that this is my life and that you are my person.
I love who you are, and I’m so glad that fate put us in each other’s arms when it did because together, we are the perfect versions of ourselves. You complete me, and I complete you. And I owe it to everyone that made us who we are. So thank you to all of the girls you loved before, because they made you the one I adore.
