Gymnastics places second at Invitational Meet
The Forest Hills gymnastics team took home second place out of eight teams in this weekend’s Invitational Meet with 138 total points. With six top-ten qualifiers, including two out of three competing Rangers, the team had a great meet and only fell to Rockford by 6.
Sophomore Hannah Walters led the team by scoring in the eight range in every event and placing in the top ten in all but one. This exceptional performance earned her 6th place overall. Sophomore Olivia Jeong placed 12th on the bars with an 8.125, as well as two more eight-range scores on the vault and floor. Junior Maheen Mulligan also had a great night, scoring eights in both the vault and beam events.
While only three Rangers competed at this meet, the entire FH team was able to pull out a close second place finish. The team has a competition-filled week ahead of them, as it will face Lowell on Wednesday and head to the Canton Invite next Saturday. The gymnasts were happy with their performances this past weekend and look to carry momentum into the upcoming meets.
