Rangers soccer defeat Lowell Red Arrows 2-0
The Rangers girls varsity soccer team defeated the Lowell Red Arrows last night, securing a key victory that continues to push them farther ahead of the other OK White conference teams. The Rangers won 2-0,and were also able to secure their sixth straight shutout on the season.
The Rangers had an excellent first half, going into the half with a 2-0 advantage. The first goal came from freshman Megan Clayton, finishing on a great ball played by fellow freshman Autumn Burns. Junior Kaitlyn Piontkowsky scored the second goal on a long thirty-yard shot. The second half was back and forth but neither team could convert, finishing the game 2-0. Despite chances on goal throughout the whole game, Lowell could not get past the consistently tough center backs, Autumn and Breanna Probst. Senior goalie Emma Yoder also made some great stops against the Red Arrow forwards.
The Rangers are now 6-0 and will play again at home against the Rockford Rams on Friday, April 27 at 7pm.
