Improv Central

Improv+Central

Activity name: Improv Central

Captains: Benji Zorn and Gavin O’Meara

Time commitment: Ten to fifteen hours a week.

Why someone should join: “When you make the Improv Team, you basically [are] signing up to sit in the auditorium and laugh for two hours with your friends. Improv [creates] a bond because it is one of the only activities where you are completely in the dark about what is going to happen. There’s no film or planned out plays; you just go out and laugh. It was the best decision I ever made to join this team.”

Prior knowledge/experience needed: “Prior experience/knowledge is not needed in order to be involved.”

How to sign up: Auditions happen at the end of the school year.

Fun facts/words of encouragement for someone weary of joining: “After both of the shows, a multitude of individuals ran up to me and said, “I could never do that. I’m not that funny.” Well, I wasn’t funny at all when I first began, but you’re a lot better at thinking on your feet than you think you are. Just go out there and have fun.”
