Senior Luke Majick returns for his second season at the starting quarterback position. He will be a key component to the explosive Ranger offense once again this year, as he drove the team to a school record-breaking 454 points last season. Luke is a lethal dual-threat quarterback, as he passed for 1,787 yards and 21 touchdowns and rushed for 840 yards and 15 touchdowns last season. He was awarded All-Conference and All-State Honorable Mention honors.

What did you lose in the graduating class versus what you have gained in the junior class this year?

“We lost a lot of talent and leadership from last year’s class, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The juniors coming up have a lot of size up front on both the offensive and defensive side. If the juniors can be tough and buy into their roles, I think we will be successful.”

What do you hope to achieve this year?

“This season all I care about is getting to Ford Field and winning a State Championship. Those are the only goals our team and I should have throughout the entire year. We came so close to making it last year, and it has motivated all of us.”

How will your role change this year as a senior on the team?

“In regards to my role being changed, I just need to be more of a vocal leader and get everyone on the same page and motivated to win every game.”

What have you and the team done in the offseason to improve?

“In the offseason we have been working really hard in the weight room trying to get bigger, faster, and stronger. We also had a team football camp with Ferris State, where we worked on our run game and added new plays to our offense.”

How will it feel to take the field for the first game of your senior year?

“Playing the last first game will be very surreal for me. It feels like just yesterday I was playing freshman football on Thursdays. Now, senior year is here and I’m just looking to take every moment in and not take anything for granted.”
