Gymnastics team flips over Kenowa Hills for a win

The Forest Hills gymnastics team tumbled over the competition last night, as it defeated the Kenowa Hills Knights. The ladies’ performances were outstanding, as they convincingly won 141.6-108.79.

All three of the gymnasts who attend Forest Hills Central—senior Maheen Mulligan, junior Hannah Walters, and junior Olivia Jeong—had very impressive scores in all the events they competed in. Hannah, since she is on her way back from an injury, only competed in one event last night: the beam. Her beam routine scored very high with a solid 9.1, allowing her to place third overall in that event.

The other two gymnasts had a very successful night as well. Maheen scored an 8.4 on the vault, as well as earning an 8.6 on both the beam and the floor; those two events were her most successful routines. Olivia, once again, had an extremely successful night; not only did she compete in all the events, but she also scored very well. Her beam routine scored an amazing 9.2, and that ended up being her highest score of the night as well as being the second-highest score at the meet overall. Her vault routine scored 8.55, her bars received an 8.65, and lastly her floor routine scored an 8.8.

The Forest Hills gymnastics team will compete again on Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Kenowa Hills Invite.
