Forest Hills Central Rangers (7-2) vs. Battle Creek Lakeview Spartans (6-2)

The first round of the playoffs is upon us. FHC has ended up pulling a first round draw of Battle Creek Lakeview at home. The Spartans and Rangers both come in with two losses on their resume. Lakeview has earned their success on the defensive side of the football holding opponents to an average of 14 points a game. The Spartans’ offense is high powered as well, as they are averaging 28 points a game. Lakeview has suffered two losses at the hands of Portage Central (8-1) and Kalamazoo Central (5-4) in the middle of their season.  Both games ended low scoring, at 10-7 and 14-7 respectively. The Rangers’ key to victory is a big defensive showing from a unit who has only given up an average of 9 points in their victories this season. On offense, the Rangers need to take care of the ball and finish drives without turning the ball over on interceptions or fumbles.
