The Central Trend

Gigi Sinicrope

Gigi Sinicrope, Staff Writer

Gigi is beginning her second year of writing for The Central Trend as a junior this year, and she is starting to fear she will run out of things to say. Her full name is Gianna, but to her, Gigi suits her much better; she has tried to switch and it has never stuck. Gigi plays varsity soccer for the high school and also plays for a local club team: Midwest United. Likely, all of Gigi’s peers would claim her imminent ability to speak endlessly either her greatest attribute or flaw, she supposes’s they can both be true. In her free time, Gigi enjoys hanging out with friends, playing with the love of her life, Leo a four-year-old German Shepherd, and the highlight of her fall season is dressing up and attending football games on Friday nights. Her personal favorite theme is ‘Pink Out.’ She finds it absolutely unbeatable. Gigi’s favorite pieces to write are editorials about things she is passionate about.

Is “the pill” the best and safest option?

Is “the pill” the best and safest option?

Gigi Sinicrope, Staff Writer February 20, 2023

“The pill” is pitched to many young adult women as a safe and smart contraceptive, and to many, I feel it is the only option pitched. And before any reader deems this as an inappropriate topic, education...

It seems this custom of pride is lost in childhood. I surely accepted all compliments of this costume.

We could all be a little more narcissistic

Gigi Sinicrope, Staff Writer December 8, 2022

It's a comical game that is played when a compliment is thrown around nowadays. It is like it's almost embarrassing to be good at something—or at least to act like you know it.  In common culture,...

All of your hair washing questions answered

Gigi Sinicrope, Staff Writer November 24, 2022

There are two types of people: those who can’t bear to go a day with dirty hair, and those who compete week by week to see just how long they can go without being in dire need of a hair wash; I am the...

The social norms of fashion

Gigi Sinicrope, Staff Writer October 24, 2022

To any avid social media user, it is not an unusual occurrence to see a specific post or issue to trend for some time. Regularly, it consumes most people's stories, and then after we have all seen it,...
