With high fashion runways revolutionizing and changing ever so quickly there’s one trend that most everyone wears daily on their hand that seems to have stayed relatively the same. An engagement ring.

A huge milestone for any man or woman is wearing this ring, and most people are eager to flaunt the rock to their friends and family. Personally, I expect quite a ring from my future husband. Not that it needs to be showy or huge, but I need thought put behind it, and tailored to my style as I will be wearing it every day regardless of my outfit.

Engagement ring trends are a hole on the internet I never intended to fall down, but, regardless, I’m happy I did. It gave me an insight into a new piece of jewelry that most people take for granted, when in reality it might just be the most important ring you receive.

Now, to break down the trends I’ve been seeing floating around, I want to start off with my personal favorite (future husband, pay attention.) The trend that’s recently been blowing up is emerald-cut rings. A tad different from the classic oval-shaped diamond I’ve seen, this shape gives a rectangular look to the ring while keeping it classic yet chic.

Another personal favorite is colored rings. Although this is not my type, I can definitely appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of different colored diamonds displayed, rather than the traditional clear and white.

A huge ring trend I’ve also noticed many celebrities taking place in is adding a small different-cut diamond detail next to the main stone. Socialite Kylie Jenner displayed this type of ring beautifully while showing off her and her daughter’s matching rings, which I think are absolutely beautiful but will set you back a pretty penny, considering you’re paying for not one but two diamonds.

Lastly, we move to a newer trend I’ve seen make its way into Tiffany’s and other popular jewelry companies across the nation. Personally, I’m not a fan. A chunky band. I think this trend takes away from the stone itself and draws more attention to the band rather than the diamond, and I could not see myself wearing this ring. However, it has gained popularity this past year and deserves a spot on the upcoming rings I see skyrocketing in popularity.

With the ever-changing fashion industry, there’s one trend we have seen stay consistent over the years, and that’s engagement rings. However, with 2023 beginning, I do see a ring revelation happening.
