Varsity baseball completes the sweep over Cedar Springs

Varsity baseball hosted the final game of the conference series last night against Cedar Springs and completed the sweep of the Red Hawks with a 6-0 win.

Senior Johnny Irish took the mound for the Rangers and was able to strike out 6 batters while allowing zero runs. Senior Nate Doolittle and junior Ethan Vredenburg were solid defensively to back up Johnny from the middle infield.

While there was no breakout offensive inning from FHC, they jumped ahead early to score 2 runs in the first, to which they added 2 more in the 4th and 1 in both the 5th and 6th. Cedar Springs had no response and couldn’t get any runs across the plate.

Senior Miko Rodriguez and junior Adam Tellier both racked up multiple hits on the night, as well as players throughout the lineup driving in runs.

FHC is now 9-3 in the OK White, as they look to continue their offensive production in order to claim the conference championship and make a deep run in the postseason.
