Girls JV volleyball team defeats Greenville 2-0

On Tuesday the girls JV volleyball team faced off against the Greenville Yellow Jackets. They were able to easily dominate against the Yellow Jackets in the first set. In the second set, however, FHC struggled to keep their momentum. The game was very close up until halfway through when the Rangers were able to pull ahead for good and win the second game. The Rangers went 2-0 on the night.

In the first set, the Rangers were able to win the game with ease. Throughout the set, FHC had minimal errors and Greenville had a tough time returning hits and serves. The Rangers were so dominant that sophomore Lilly Vanskiver was able to play all around and try out different positions. Freshman Grace Hunkins, which is the team’s libero, was a key player in the first set. She had some exceptional digs off of Greenville’s serves. Sophomore Cora Kelly was also a key player in the first set. She was able to hit the ball very well to help the Rangers won the first set 25-10.

In the second set, the Rangers had a rough start. They had more errors that led to a tighter game. In the end, FHC was able to win the on-going battle 25-22. Sophomore Emma Lohr was able to help the Rangers win the second set with some tough hits that the Yellow Jackets couldn’t return, and she also played well in the back row.

The Rangers were able to rally through the match and come out on top. This win puts the Rangers’ OK White record at 5-1. On Thursday, the Lady Rangers will be facing off against the Forest Hills Northern Huskies. This should be a good battle, as FHC will look to avenge themselves of their only loss, which came to FHN earlier in the season.
