Boys varsity golf places second in Thousand Oaks Jamboree

At the Northview Jamboree at Thousand Oaks, the boys varsity golf team fell short of first place, falling to the Huskies of Forest Hills Northern.

As a team, the boys’ top 4 shot 174. Despite the bad weather and tough circumstances, the Rangers had their top 3 players scoring high among the standings. Leading the pack was senior Justin Turner, who shot a 41. Close behind him was junior Isaiah Huemphner and freshman Joe Murdock, who both shot scores of 42.

This matchup was tough for the Rangers, as their fourth player had a 49 and brought the team’s total up a bit. The other teams they play against are all elite programs who have talented top players and always place high. Luckily for FHC, there weren’t too many teams in this particular Jamboree, which allowed the second place finish.

The Rangers are slowly improving at every tournament, and they get to play again on Monday, April 22 in a Jamboree at Watermark.
