Varsity volleyball goes 1-3 at East Kentwood Tournament

Saturday morning at East Kentwood High School, varsity volleyball would participate in their fourth tournament of the season. Four matches later, the ladies would leave with a 1-3 record.

With four experienced seniors, Audrey Tubbs, Kendall Gardner, Louise Gallup and Emma Beck gone, the team struggled in the morning, losing to the home team of East Kentwood. Despite being down a few players, they were still able to win one game against them, losing 2-1. East Grand Rapids was the next opponent for the team, unfortunately they were not able to win any games against them. After the first two matches, the ladies had won only one game of five.

Before the game against Catholic Central, three of the four seniors were back to assist the team. Likewise to the game against East Kentwood, they won one game, but fell to them in the third. As the last game against Holland Christian rolled around, the team was finally able to get a 2-0 win to end the day.

This coming Tuesday the team hopes to get revenge against Battle of the Hills winner Forest Hills Northern to start out their conference play strong.
