Without captain Ally Werkema setting for the Rangers, the freshman girls volleyball team played through adversity against Mona Shores on the road last night. However, Brooke Kushak stepped into Ally’s position and served as FHC’s setter for the night.

FHC swept Mona shores in two hard-fought sets.

The first set started very rough; FHC gave up a large 10-1 deficit to begin the first set.  Although with smart attacking, the Rangers fought back and won the first set by a small margin of 25-23.

Tired from the comeback win from the first set, FHC started sluggishly again in the second. Once again, the Rangers came from behind and claimed a victory of 25-21.

“I am super proud of the resiliency of my team, never giving up, even in large lead gaps. We will definitely use this game as a learning experience and move onward,” head coach Tilton said.

The Rangers compete next on Tuesday, October 15th at Cedar Springs.
